Pebbles in the Roadway

From The Norman Report #136
7/09/2002
Pebbles in the Roadway by Jim McEachin, actor (Rockford Files, First Monday), writer, Korean war hero, philosopher, and friend, is a personal recollection of his thoughts his many years on this earth in his path and travels back through time and tells us about them in prose, poetry and song. Being a Black American, he had his shares of problems but through it all, he has travailed and prospered and feels it as is all due to living in the greatest country in the world. Much of the "bits and pieces" in this book take place in cities throughout this land where you meet characters of beauty, the not so pretty, and just plain folks all making their way through life.

Jim gives talks to war veteran groups and tells them that they are the ones who saved our great democracy and they should never forget it. Patriotism may be fleeting at times but now after 9/11 everyone should give thanks to our great veterans. This seems to be the passion of Jim. He has also written a number of books that are well worth reading, The Great Canis Lupus (my personal favorite), Farewell to the Mockinbirds, The Heroin Factor, Say Goodbye to the Boys in Blue, and Tell me a Tale. Try to find them.
Norman.
